Store offers basket full of West Virginia
Charleston, W.Va. — Looking for a little sample of West Virginia to give as a holiday gift?
How about a whole basketful?
Gift baskets have been available at West Virginia State Museum’s gift shop on a small scale since it opened about a year and a half ago, said Sandy Eads, store manager. Now the shop is offering an expanded gift basket program.
“This is the first year we’ve offered really big gift baskets,” Eads said.
Employees at the shop have put together smaller gift baskets in the past, but they were not “emphasized,” she added. About 50 gift baskets have been sold at the store since it opened, Eads said.
This season, the shop has already matched that number since Thanksgiving. Eads estimates the shop will sell about 150 baskets before the Christmas season comes to an end.
“We’ve done a lot of baskets for companies like Columbia Gas and some state agencies,” Eads said.
