Ta-Da! Novelty Shop Coming To Stuyvesant
Stuyvesant Plaza has announced it will soon be home to the area’s newest concept store when Ta-da! opens its second Capital Region location this summer.
Ta-da!, which offers quirky gifts, specialty toys, odd-ball books and non-traditional games for children and adults, will take over the space formerly occupied by Frame of Mind at Stuyvesant Plaza. As many as four new employees will be hired to staff the operation.
Stuyvesant Plaza marks the second Capital Region store for Ta-da! owners Michael and Molly Richman, and the second venture into Stuyvesant Plaza for a member of the Richman family. Michael’s father, Barry, owns gift and accessory store Pearl Grant Richmans, which made its debut in Stuyvesant Plaza as Richman’s Card and Gift Shop when the plaza opened in 1959. Like Pearl Grant Richmans did more than half a century ago as one of the original founding tenants, Ta-da! will bring something new and different to the Plaza this summer.
“I grew up working in my parents’ store and Michael has done the same in my store,” Barry Richman said. “Stuyvesant Plaza has been a big part of our lives and I’m glad Michael and Molly are joining me in a place that has been like a second home for so long.”
