TAKUMI JAPAN to Exhibit at San Francisco International Gift Fair

Japan’s Central Federation of Societies of Commerce and Industry (CFSCIJ) announced it will showcase quality craft goods along with food and beverage-related products from Japanese micro, small and medium-sized businesses at the upcoming San Francisco International Gift Fair February 15-18, 2014. The CFSCIJ is exhibiting at the SF Gift Fair as part of seven international trade shows taking place from January to March in the U.S., the U.K., Germany and France to introduce Japanese artisans and businesses overseas. More than 300 Japanese small businesses will have their products on display.

CFSCIJ, an economic organization that supports Japanese micro, small and medium sized businesses and their communities, developed the project TAKUMI JAPAN. TAKUMI, which means skilled artisans and craftsmen in Japanese, is part of a national initiative to support companies that are looking to expand their businesses overseas. These types of Japanese businesses currently account for 99.7 percent of companies in the country and make up roughly 70 percent of Japan’s employment. At each trade show, TAKUMI JAPAN will introduce the TAKUMI initiative, along with products from Japanese businesses that highlight Japanese tradition, technology, design and local origin. Visitors will experience Japanese TAKUMI spirit on site.

At the San Francisco International Gift Fair, TAKUMI JAPAN will exhibit Japanese crafts that are valued and appreciated for their individual technique. Professional buyers will have the opportunity to connect with TAKUMI JAPAN executives through special programs (seminars and performances) and business-matching sessions. TAKUMI JAPAN representatives and artisans will also be available on site for interviews. Please get in touch in advance to schedule an interview.
