‘Terrific Deals’ offered in Lynn
The Lynn community received a new retail shop last month when local resident Dave Stephens opened TD’s Terrific Deals on N. Main St. The shop, formerly Big Boys Toys, carries an assortment of gift items including porcelain dolls, candles, bath and body products and toys. Stephens said he was motivated by senior citizens.
“I’ve listened to the older folks who want to just get a gift or a candy bar,” Stephens said. “So, I wanted to open a shop where people could go, but not have to drive nine miles or more down the road to do it.”
He noted that a large percentage of Randolph County residents are age 65 or older, an age bracket of the Lynn community he would like to give greater consideration. One of his “terrific deals” is offering a five percent discount to senior citizens 55 years and older.
Growing up in Richmond, Stephens moved to Lynn 21 years ago and has decided he wants to give back to the community.
“I’m just trying to help people out the best way I know how,” he said.
Stephens said he has accumulated experience in retail management after working over the years at Wal-Mart, CVS and Dollar General.
