The Spirit of Aloha is Only a Flip Flop Away

ATLANTA – What better way to gear up for summer than with Scott Hawaii slippahs from Flip Flop Shops and the opportunity to win the ultimate Hawaiian vacation experience.

Flip Flop Shops, North America’s first retail chain exclusive to the hottest brands and latest styles of flip flops and sandals, and Scott Hawaii have teamed up to make that dream vacation a reality for one lucky winner and a friend when they “Expose Their Toes” with Scott Hawaii this June.

During the month of June, Flip Flop Shops throughout the United States, Canada, Guam and the Caribbean are giving consumers who purchase Scott Hawaii slippahs, the brand’s nod to the way Hawaiians affectionately refer to flip flops and sandals, free Scott Hawaii shwag and entry into a drawing to win a dream beach vacation to Hawaii.

Proving its passion for the Aloha spirit and its consumers’ continued loyalty, Flip Flop Shops is sharing a free bottle opener key chain with consumers who make a Scott Hawaii purchase. For those who spend more than $75, Flip Flop Shops is also awarding them a free Scott Hawaii cooler. Plus, they will have a chance to win a trip for two to the island of Oahu for a five day stay at the Outrigger Reef Hotel on Waikiki Beach. The trip is packed with activities, including a canoe sailing adventure and cocktails and dinner with the Scott Hawaii crew. Complimentary round trip airfare on Hawaiian Airlines and an Alamo Rental Car are also included in the prize pack.

“We’re heading into summer with a killer promotion that helps us share the Hawaiian spirit in our shops, and we couldn’t think of anyone better to help us do this than with Scott Hawaii,” said Brian Curin, the President (Size 10) of Flip Flop Shops, adding that having Scott Hawaii onboard for the shops’ fourth promotion of the year is the perfect way to invite consumers to free their toes. “Scott Hawaii has been making amazingly durable footwear for decades. We’re amped to team up with them again to give away the Hawaiian getaway of a lifetime.”

As part of the promotion, each Flip Flop Shops location will receive a promotional facelift, complete with Scott Hawaii graphics. In addition, Flip Flop Shops’ unique and innovative “flip flop trees” will be exclusively dedicated to the Scott Hawaii product line. Flip Flop Shops’ staff will create further awareness for the promotion by wearing Scott Hawaii and Flip Flop Shops branded tees.

“We love working with the Flip Flop Shops team and take great pride in our ongoing partnership,” said Michael Scott, the President (Size 9) of Scott Hawaii. “The company’s top leadership and talented collection of shop owners has led the brand through remarkable growth during the past few years, and it’s been a pleasure being onboard for the ride. We’re stoked to give their consumers a hint of Hawaii this June.”

Bursting onto the retail scene in 2004, Flip Flop Shops quickly became North America’s first retail chain exclusive to the hottest brands and latest styles of flip flops and sandals from such leading brands as Scott Hawaii, REEF, Sanuk, Flojos, havaianas, OluKai, Cobian and O’NEILL, among others. Its mission: to provide the opportunity for anyone, in any climate, to “Live… Work … Play With Their Toes Exposed®” while wearing the freedom of flip flops on their feet.

“Scott Hawaii slippahs are the ultimate Hawaiian footwear for comfort, durability, and style,” said Darin Kraetsch, the CEO (Size 10) of Flip Flop Shops, who added that no “break in” time is required.

Today, Flip Flop Shops has more than 40 locations operating throughout the United States, Canada, Guam, and the Caribbean, with 60-plus shops in development.

About Scott Hawaii

Founded in 1932 as a footwear company making boots for plantation workers, Scott Hawaii’s rich history was re-written during World War II when supplies were directed to the troops and materials became scarce. In an effort to provide casual footwear for the hard working servicemen of the United States, Scott Shoe Company refocused their efforts from boots to a line of what the local Hawaiians termed “slippahs,” or flip flops as they are known today. The same quality Scott Hawaii brought to its plantation boots in the early 1930’s remains the cornerstone of the company’s mission statement today. As creators of the Original Hawaiian Slippah, the Scott family carries on the tradition of authentic shoe features in their expanding line of sandals by mirroring many of the components found in high quality shoes.
