TrendWatch to highlight fashion-forward designs from spring High Point Market

International Market Center’s popular TrendWatch program returns to High Point Market this spring, April 22-26, 2017, giving attendees an inside look at leading trends in the home furnishings industry through an opening day seminar and three on-site displays. TrendWatch is directed by home furnishings trend forecaster, editor, and curator Julie Smith Vincenti of Nine Muses Media.

Market attendees can see three TrendWatch displays at IMC properties: Suites at Market Square Lobby, IHFC Green Lobby, and the walkway between IHFC and Showplace near the Transportation Terminal. These curated vignettes are created from submissions by Market exhibitors. The vendors and the products chosen for the prestigious TrendWatch program can be seen on pinboards here.

“TrendWatch not only identifies cutting-edge trends that will ultimately direct the future of design, but it also highlights the incredible breadth of product offered at High Point Market,” said Karen Olson, senior vice president of Marketing for IMC. “For this spring Market, we received the most submissions to date as momentum continues to grow for the popular program.”

A free opening day seminar, held at 3:30 p.m.Saturday, April 22, at the Suites at Market Square Seminar Room (SAMS 1-1014), gives attendees the perfect way to start their spring Market experience and offers .1 CEUs. The Spring 2017 trends that are highlighted in TrendWatch include:
Pattern 2017: UNBOUNDED
UNBOUNDED interiors are laid-back, yet expressive, spaces that encourage a bohemian approach to decorating. Regional patterns, folkloric motifs, vibrant colors and inviting textures exist in harmony — because in UNBOUNDED, there’s room for all.
Millennials 2017: TRANSITIONS
Urban environments transition to suburban floor plans as older Millennials achieve new wealth and reach the crossroads of marriage and family. This season’s TRANSITIONS vignette illustrates this natural migration pattern in a two-part story of scale and functionality.
Color 2017: VERDURE
Greens that promise renewal and growth create a backdrop for interiors and tablescapes in 2017. These upbeat greens will reinforce tropical-inspired themes in the year ahead, plus strengthen indoor/outdoor living and decorating trends.
The TrendWatch displays showcase how these trends influence style and décor for home furnishings, with products ranging from furniture to textiles, materials to decorative accessories.  The product displays reflect different themes and change for each event.
