Unique Lobby Display Designed by Luna Bella Debuts at Winter 2014 Las Vegas Market

International Market Centers has commissioned leading furniture and accessories design firm Luna Bella to design and craft a huge “jewel box” display case – with a suspended, revolving chandelier – to adorn the lobby of Building C at World Market Center Las Vegas. The unique fixture, which will debut at the Winter 2014 Las Vegas Market, running January 26-30, 2014, will spotlight specialty tabletop resources from c-ONE’s cross-category showcase of directional gift and home décor permanent and temporary presentations.

This striking and innovative wood, iron and glass oversized display case will be positioned in the front window at the entrance to building C. The display will highlight an assortment of specialty tabletop and related accessories from both new and existing c-ONE resources – including Bodrum, Lenox, Skyros, Vietri, Waterford Wedgewood, Tamara Childs and others – and will reinforce Las Vegas’ position as the leading market in the western U.S. for furniture, home décor and giftware.

“Las Vegas Market commissioned this one-of-a-kind display piece to showcase the exceptional tabletop and decorative accessories presented on c-ONE,” said Dorothy Belshaw, president of Gift & Home Décor, International Market Centers. “We partnered with Luna Bella to create the piece given their truly exceptional design and creativity.”

Luna Bella designers and founders Nicolas Trujillo and Teresa Costa say they approached the design of the display case similar to the way they approach their furniture and decorative accessories, conceptualizing the piece as a highly artful display that transcends time and trends. The display measures approximately 96 inches wide by 43 inches deep by 132 inches high, and is constructed of a combination of solid wood, laser cut iron, solid stock iron, iron tubing and glass; the felt-lined interior is graced by a crystal chandelier.

“The inspiration behind the Luna Bella’s design of the display cabinet came from Le Jardin des Plantes in Paris,” Trujillo and Costa explained. “Established in 1626, Le Jardin des Plantes is one of the oldest museums in the world dedicated to the science of the natural world. There were gorgeous display cabinets handcrafted of wood, glass and iron displaying historical artifacts dating back hundreds of years.

“The uniqueness of the design process is that this substantial piece is handcrafted, inspired from around the world, manufactured in the United States much like it was made over 200 years ago,” the pair remarked. “One of our favorite quotes is, ‘More is more,’ by Anthony Duquette, and we have tried to capture this spirit within the design of this unique display case.”

Established in 1995, Luna Bella is well known for its elegant lighting, clocks, and furniture, all reflecting a fusion of industrial design with a classic twist of delicate sophistication. The products are handcrafted in the United States, and the company has won numerous trade awards and professional recognition for their product design and showrooms throughout the years.

The c-ONE cross-category showcases features a curated collection of more than 45 leading tabletop, gift and home décor brands in both permanent and temporary exhibition space. A wide assortment of new temporary exhibitors are planning to showcase better home décor merchandise at the Winter 2014 Market, including recently announced exhibitors Allan Copley Designs, Brodarick Design, Elizabeth Lucas Company, FermobUSA, Interior Illusions SkLO, Tronk Design and Trowbridge Gallery. These new c-ONE exhibitors join a stellar line-up of anchor tenants, including Alessi USA, Ann Gish, Fatboy USA, Gold Leaf Designs, Jonathan Adler, Michael Aram, Magisso North America LLC and VIETRI.
