Veggie Art Girl Boutique now openBy Citizen.com

The Veggie Art Girl Boutique is now open in Holderness, offering creative designs, unique finds and earth-friendly art and gifts.

From the Smoky Mountains to Squam Lake, freelance artist Stacey Lucas has done some traveling and has returned to her hometown to open her own consignment art shop, which will hold an open house on Saturday, July 11, from noon to 6 p.m. Featuring free live music, face painting, door prizes, demos and refreshments, she wants to welcome the community to her unique shop.

“I want to offer people something completely different,” said Lucas. “This is not a typical art gallery or gift store. This store is like a self-portrait; I want people to walk in here and find themselves on a bit of an adventure amid the colors and creative selection.”

With its bold colors and handcrafted look, the Veggie Art Girl Boutique is fun hole-in-the-wall business that includes a gift for nearly anyone on that gift-giving list. Most importantly, you will find that nearly everything is earth-friendly and created by a local artist.

“It was important that I have a unique, handcrafted selection,” she said. “I want people to be able to find a reasonably priced, earth-friendly gift. I want people to feel good about what they are buying, supporting a local artisan and be able to walk out of the shop with a gift-wrapped present and card for less than $20.”

“This shop is a project that is years in the making,” said Lucas, who is an artist of many mediums. “In my travels I have filled sketchbooks full of concept drawings and ideas for displaying art. I have been stocking up on display furniture for years, for when the time was right to create something like this.”
