Who is Tatty Teddy? Ask Douglas Company it’s their new License!

Tatty Teddy is an adorable tattered gray teddy bear with a blue nose that currently has an amazing following in the UK. Douglas Company recently signed a licensing agreement with bestselling British brand Me to You by Carte Blanche Greetings and will be introducing Tatty Teddy to the US market in 2012.

But, who is Tatty Teddy and why is he so well loved? It’s a great story of unconditional love that starts out in a broken down abandoned home. A brown teddy bear was mistakenly left behind among the rubbish of the forgotten home. The little bear was all alone and bitter cold. One day a snowflake fell from the sky and as it touched the lonely teddy’s nose his fur began to turn gray and his nose turned bright blue.

One day a young girl was walking nearby and saw the teddy bear caught among the debris. She scooped him up all tattered and torn and rushed him to her grandmother for patching. Such joy filled the little bear’s heart although his once warm golden brown color did not return and he remained gray and blue nosed with some fresh new patches. No matter, the little girl loved him with all her heart and expressed her happiness to be with him daily. It’s this kind of unconditional love that Tatty Teddy helps to spread throughout the world with his presence as a social expression product line.

Douglas Company is in the design process of developing the plush line for the US and Canadian market. It will be available for retail in 2012.
