La Cienega brings collaboration to California Gift Show
Los Angeles, CA – Call it a gift show within a gift show: this year marks the first time that a local collaborative of Los Angeles neighborhood businesses will participate in the California Gift Show.
The recently formed La Cienega South Design and Art District (LSDAD) is a group of companies that complement one another in the design and art world that are based in and around La Cienega Boulevard South in Culver City.
LSDAD will set up shop along side over 1,000 other exhibitors that will attract over 2,500 product lines for an anticipated 20,000 attendees at this year’s show. The Show will run July 18-21 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
”The California Gift Show is the perfect arena for LSDAD to establish itself in the greater gift industry,” said Zaid Al-Hakim of LSDAD. “Not only will we be reaching tens of thousands of attendees and many hundreds of exhibitors who might be interested in our products, but also we hope to act as a compelling model of how collaboration and respectful mutual support can save money, advance sales, and create a more satisfying and effective work environment within the retail community.”
LSDAD specializes in an eclectic mix of high-end furnishings, import furniture, accessories and artwork that caters primarily to the interior design and architectural industries. The members of LSDAD have come together to build awareness about this growing creative community and to promote the revitalization of this geographic area. The companies that comprise the LSDAD represent two of Los Angeles’ biggest and best importers, wholesalers and artists in a burgeoning design district.
The semi-annual California Gift Show is managed by GLM, a dmg world media business. The 147th edition will take place Friday, July 18 – Monday, July 21 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, attracting 20,000 attendees. Some 1,000 exhibitors will participate throughout ten divisions: At Home; Boutique; EX·TRACTS; Fashion Accessories; Gifts, Etc.; Jewelry (Cash & Carry); Resort, Souvenir & Licensing; Stationery & More, The Vintage Collection and World Style.
