April Cornell Licensees Introduce New Collections; Partner with Cornell’s Giving World Foundation

Burlington, VT – April Cornell Holdings, Ltd, parent company for the April Cornell brand, announces its licensees’ debut of new fall designs and product offerings that feature April’s signature color palette and exquisite floral interpretations. Licensees announcing new April Cornell product offerings include industry leaders C&F Enterprises, Inc., Crazy Mountain, Now Designs/Danica, Homefires, Manual Woodworkers & Weavers and Martha M. In addition, the firm announces its licensees who have partnered with April Cornell to help benefit The Giving World foundation, a non-profit organization founded by April and her husband Chris Cornell in the early 1990’s to help those in need throughout India by providing a hand up, and not a handout.

When April Cornell started her business over a quarter of a century ago, she was particularly drawn to the beauty of the culture of India and found much inspiration there. Cornell began manufacturing her own designs, and in 1991, built the company’s first facility in New Delhi, where traditional Indian printing methods are still used today. As the business grew in India, Cornell developed a deep concern for the impoverished conditions in which many children and families live. She was compelled to find an effective, lasting way to give back to the people and communities she had come to know so well. To achieve this, in the early 1990s Cornell established what is today the Giving World Foundation. Beyond her own retail, Cornell has encouraged her licensees to also donate a portion of the profits to the foundation.

The objective of the Giving World Foundation, based in Burlington, Vermont, is to provide a handhold, not a handout, to those in need throughout India. The primary mission of the Giving World is to help disadvantaged people become self-reliant and empower them to achieve solutions that improve their quality of life.

“I have had the opportunity to enrich people’s lives with beautiful product, with artistic inspiration and with adding pleasure to their everyday, and because of this,” April explains, “I have the opportunity to do so much more… To give back – to give back in the countries where we manufacture – to give back in the countries that have helped make this beautiful product – to give back where there is need – to give back and offer a hand up to others.”

Participating licensees in The Giving World Foundation include C & F Enterprises, Inc., Crazy Mountain, Cottage Garden Collections(tm), Danica/Now Designs, Homefires and Martha M. In addition to its licensees, April Cornell’s contracted public relations agency, Professional Marketing, has also joined on board, offering a private donation to benefit the foundation.
