American Craft Council Wholesale Show, Feb. 23-24, 2010
New York, NY – Over 700 of the top contemporary craft artists will be under one roof to present their latest handmade jewelry, clothing, furniture and home décor items at the 34th annual American Craft Council Wholesale Show, February 23-24, 2010. These master artisans from across the country were selected through a rigorous jury process to exhibit at this annual show. Special show features and categories include:
GREEN CRAFT: Responding to contemporary issues, this category features artists incorporating recycled or found materials and eco-friendly techniques into their work.
CRAFT4KIDS: Artists will present their latest lines of clothing, furniture, toys, home décor and more designed especially for children.
LAWN & GARDEN: Brand new in 2010, this category features artists who specifically craft outdoor and lawn-specific furniture, décor, accessories, and more.
SCHOOL-TO-MARKET: To help bridge the gap between academic programs and the marketplace for sculptural and functional craft, the Council has invited crafts students of two top design schools to curate a section of their work. For the second consecutive year, students from Savannah College of Art and Design will be on hand to mentor first time participating students from Rhode Island School of Design. An unparalleled opportunity to see new work revealed for the first time in public.
NETWORKING EVENTS: Celebrating craft enthusiasts, there will be several events for buyers to mix and mingle. Complimentary continental breakfast will be available in the registration area prior to the opening of the show each morning as well as informative educational seminars and round tables from some of the leading experts in the field.
