Country Store offers crafts, homemade food items
An annual tradition for more than half a century, the Country Craft Store began as a Presbyterian Women’s Association project and gradually evolved in a whole church function.
Held on the first Friday and Saturday in November, the event, along with the associated Friday evening Harvest Dinner, is part of year round efforts to raise funds for the PWA’s many and varied missions, which include a wide range of local, national and international causes.
This year, knowledgeable seekers of attractive, high-quality, lovingly-crafted holiday gifts will arrive at the church’s Fellowship Hall promptly at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 6 for the best selection of handmade craft items and homemade food displayed at the Country Store, which remains open during the traditional turkey meal served from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Harvest Dinner,
The store will also be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7.
About a dozen Craft Group members meet regularly at Wilma Kerr’s home to produce a myriad of items for which they have become well known.
