Granville woman spices up lifeBy L.B. WhydeNewarkAdvocate.com

Granville, OH — Cooking and creating new recipes always has been a passion for Aimee Williams.

Combining that with her love of working with retail customers, Williams has created a niche market for her business, Aimee’s Blue Ribbon Spices. She is loving every minute of it.

What Williams does is invent new recipes from scratch using bulk spices and packages them to be used for seasonings, dips, marinades, soups, cheese balls, meat rubs and spreads.

Part of the packaging is the unique names she comes up with. These multiple-serving 3-ounce containers will make the item three to eight times. Her “For the Love of Garlic Butter” mix can make up to 16 batches.

“This has really taken off. I’m just letting it go wherever it goes,” Williams said. “I’m having a blast. What I really want is the time to experiment with all the recipes I have in my head, and that takes time.”

With a retail food establishment license, Williams prepares all of the spices in her home. She has her products in 20 retail stores, including the Der Dutchman Restaurants and bakeries in Amish Country and Raisin Rack Natural Food Markets in Westerville and Canton.
