A Gift to Gab is a cornucopia of unique recycled treasurersBy Charlie WarnerHometownArgus.com

To say the “A Gift To Gab” gift shop is a green business would be a gross understatement. Nearly every item in the Spring Grove store is recycled from something else.

Co-owners Cristi Schulte and Sandy Tollefsrud take worn out, discarded items and transform them into eye-catching centerpieces, wall hangings, ornaments and floral pieces. Be it an old screen door, the metal basket from an old pressure cooker or a wooden bread box ready for the garbage truck, these two women have the creative eye and the talent to do magic with just about anything.

“We’d talked about doing something like this for a while,” Schulte said, as she smiled at her aunt. “When we heard this building opened up, we took a look at it and decided it would be the right fit for us.”

A Gift To Gab is located in a brick building at 149 West Main. The store is a cornucopia of “unique custom-made one-of-a-kind gifts and florals,” according to their business card.

Schulte and Tollefsrud have a number of persons who routinely drop off old doors, cupboards, etc. for them to convert into marketable pieces. They also receive calls from friends and relatives who are in the process of tearing down old buildings or conducting remodeling projects and invite the two ladies to remove any salvageable items they might find.
