Business Spotlight: Gift shop, tailoring business now linkedBy Kyle NelsonAuroraAdvocate.com

Aurora, OH – The Little White Cottage at 1013 N. Aurora Road has gotten a lot bigger.

Barbara DeCamp and Margaret Chapman are co-owners of the gift shop and tailoring business. DeCamp helped open the gift shop in July.

“Margaret has a tailoring business that has been in the cottage for two years,” DeCamp said. “She wasn’t utilizing all the space, and she asked me what I was going to do once the place where I was working closed. I told her I would probably retire.

“From there we formed a partnership and opened a gift shop,” she added. “We have 600 square feet total up and down in the cottage that was built in the 1940s, and we’ve utilized every inch of space we can.”

Included in the shop are kitchen items, personal products, pajamas, hand-painted glass from an artist in the Ashtabula area, French handbags, Italian soaps and Belgian chocolates.

DeCamp said that Christmas items soon will start coming in to replace the summer gardening items.
