Cartwheels offers unique papers and giftsBy Mary Alan WoodwardVoice-Tribune.com

Louisville, KY – A young child occasionally greeting customers at the door isn’t common at most gift stores. Neither is a lending library tucked among tabletop displays of stationery. With three generations of family members taking part in its activities, it’s one shop that takes the personal touch to a whole new level.

Kathy Lintner and her daughter, Meredith Lintner Metzmeier, opened Cartwheels in May, but the store’s location was already like a second home to them: Kathy once owned a gift store called Watermark Gallery and Gifts in Chenoweth Square. Our dad, Jim, just finished assembling the silver trees for our holiday displays, and has carried tons of things in and out. My children help break down shipping boxes – one of the boys likes to get in the dumpster and jump on them. Kruse, who is 4, has opened the door for customers and said, ‘Welcome to Cartwheels.'”
