Gift store owner creates military tributeBy Kelly NewmanClayTodayOnline.com

Orange Park — Red, white and blue are more than just colors to Annabelle Hamachek, owner of Annabelle’s, a gift shop and interior design studio in Orange Park. She uses these colors in her shop to help people decorate their homes and now she is also using them to honor the men and women serving in the United States military.

Hamachek has decorated a portion of her shop with the pictures of men and women from Clay County currently serving in the military. She is calling it the “Wall of Honor” and says she hopes that the wall will soon expand down the entire hallway. Hamachek revealed the wall along with her Christmas collection at her business’s open house on October 23.

“I want us to remember who is giving us this holiday,” said Hamachek.

The wall is decorated with red, white and blue and is surrounded by flags and inspirational quotes meant to celebrate those serving in the military. Hamachek says the wall is intended not only to honor the military but to remind everyone who sees it of the men and women willing to give their lives for the freedom of American citizens.

“I thought of creating the wall after a customer brought me a picture that she knew would mean a lot to me,” said Hamachek.
