New retail store coming to Oxford
Oxford — The owner of Juniper is opening a new store with contemporary clothing for all occasions and all sizes.
The shop, named Magnolia, is scheduled to open in April at Stewart Square, said owner Tamar Lusk.
Magnolia will be similar to Juniper, which is located on High Street, in terms of retail items offered. The store will sell clothing, jewelry, shoes, accessories and gifts. Lusk said she hopes the new store will appeal to women of all ages.
“Magnolia will be a little more grown up, so I like to think of it as Juniper’s older sister,” Lusk said.
Lusk said the hardest part about opening the new store is trying to find the balance between casual and business attire.
“I want a Miami professor or doctor’s wife to be able to find a suit or nice blouse, but I also want a Miami student or 30-year-old mom to find a fun sweater to wear to a party,” Lusk said. “Finding the balance between the age groups and prices points has been interesting.”
Lusk said the biggest aspect she is focusing on for Magnolia is offering “hostess gift” items. These are gifts, usually small, that a person might buy to take to a house party to say, “Thank you for having me.”
