Shop Locally, Council Urges MeltoniansBy MeltonWeekly.com

Residents are being encouraged to support their local butcher, baker and candlestick maker by shopping in Melton.

The towns’ traders are being urged to get involved in the Think Local … Buy Local campaign to increase community awareness of local goods and services.

Mayor Justin Mammarella said the council was “committed to fostering a robust local economy”.

“To be truly successful, this campaign needs the support of local business owners and operators.”

Businesses will be offered promotion, training and mentoring. An online directory, newsletter, customer loyalty programs and a secret shopper program will be part of the campaign.
