Seminars & Special Events Enhance The Gourmet Housewares Show At NYIGF
WHITE PLAINS, NY Educational seminars, industry social events and buyer promotions are all part of the value-added activities to be presented during the summer 2011 debut of the Gourmet Housewares Show® at the New York International Gift Fair® (NYIGF®), Sunday, August 14, through Thursday, August 18, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

“Defining the New Gourmet Consumer – How & Why They Buy,” will be presented by Gourmet Insider and HomeWorld Business, on Monday, August 15, from 3:00PM to 4:30PM. As part of the session, Robin Albing of Albing International Marketing will present an in-depth introduction to “Millennial” consumers and their buying behaviors – addressing where they shop, what they buy, how they shop and what their kitchens look like.
“Everything Goes With Gourmet! Visual Merchandising to Boost Cross-Category Sales” will be presented by Gourmet Business on Tuesday, August 16, from 8:30AM to 9:30AM. This image-rich presentation will illustrate how to engage gourmand customers through visual merchandising.
“The Fair Trade Kitchen” will be presented by The Gourmet Retailer on Tuesday, August 16, from 12:00 Noon to 1:00PM. This session, which is part of the NYIGFSustainAbility program, will outline Fair Trade basics and address how retailers can benefit from buying and selling high-quality kitchen and table products with tremendous societal and cultural impact.
In celebration of The Gourmet Housewares Show’s first successful co-location with NYIGF, GLM will host a “Manhattan Mixer” on Monday, August 15, from 6:00PM to 7:00PM, at the Javits Center. Specialty “Big Apple-tinis” and other libations will be available for purchase at the event.
