For over one hundred years the Original Hammock Shop in Pawleys Island makes hand crafted hammocks. The hammock industry has always used natural products, but it has changed quite a bit over the last decade.

“Hammocks are kind of a green product all by themselves, because inherently they’re handmade. A lot of people don’t realize that factor,” says Brett Guarino, Sales Manager of the Original Pawleys Island Hammock Company.

The Original Hammock Shop takes it one step further with duracord hammocks.

“We make our own rope, duracord rope, and the beauty about duracord is it feels like cotton but it’s one hundred percent synthetic. It lasts a very long time,” Guarino says.
