Dodge man creates sculptures out of nuts, bolts, washers and other metal
For years, Eddie Bures turned nuts, bolts, washers and nails into art.
The result has been little figurines that play cards, drive tractors and fly kites.
Bures’ small metal sculptures feature characters that are suspended in action.
A postman delivers mail.
A painter creates a picture.
A lineman climbs an electric pole.
Recently, Bures displayed his metallic works of art during the village of Dodge’s 125th anniversary celebration. Boys especially liked seeing the small figurines.
“Their eyes just lit up when they saw them,” said Bures, 80, of Dodge.
Recently, the area man covered a kitchen counter in his home with the pint-sized sculptures. He’s not selling these. He doesn’t sell them out of his house. He does have some at the From Nebraska Gift Shop in Lincoln, where he’s sold them for 10 years or more.
