Matchmaking Platform for Contract Business Online as of Now
‘Contract Business’ special show at Ambiente 2012
4,000 fine porcelain cups, 2,000 champagne flutes in ultra-thin pre- mium glass, 50 lamps made of sterling silver: the contract business is about equipping entire large-scale objects such as hotels, cruise liners, congress centres or restaurants with products for the table and kitchen, home accessories, furniture or seasonal decoration. This growing market will be one of the focal points at Ambiente, in- ternationally the most important consumer-goods fair, from 10 to 14 February 2012.
Even now, in the run-up to Ambiente, contract business buyers such as interior architects, boatbuilders and caterers can find companies operating in the contract business field and offering all-round equip- ment concepts on the matchmaking platform at http://contract- ambiente.messefrankfurt.com. A digital calendar function also makes it possible to arrange a date for a personal meeting at the fair. “More and more of the trade visitors to Ambiente are looking for manufac- turers whose offers can cover all the requirements of their specific contract business”, Thomas Kastl, Director of Ambiente, reports. “The matchmaking platform brings together buyers and suppliers in the contract business and provides the opportunity for obtaining in- formation and establishing business contacts even before the fair”, Kastl continues. Exhibitors like Dibbern, Kahla, Kare Design, Kristallglasfabrik Spiegelau, Robbe & Berking or Zwilling are now presenting them- selves on the online platform.
In order to make it as easy as possible for buyers also to orient themselves ‘offline’ at the fair, the exhibition stands of the contract business suppliers will be labelled accordingly.
For the first time, Ambiente is also offering a special programme for trade visitors that will include guided tours of selected five-star hotels in Frankfurt, the exclusive Contract Business Lounge in the foyer of Hall 4.2 as a meeting point for the target group and the special show ‘Contract Business – Interior & Dining Concepts for Commercial Pro- jects’, curated and orchestrated by Helga Janzon. “In view of the dif- ferent target groups, we shall also be taking up different styles”, the interior designer from Hamburg explains. There will be simulations of ‘houses’, where Janzon will present her four trend themes: ‘Country House – Classic and Modern’ – a style characterised by the use of wood, light colours and natural materials. The materials and prod- ucts used for ‘House on the Lake or Yacht Interior’ are highly func- tional. ‘Town House’, on the other hand, is the name of a puristic style that uses reduced forms and new materials such as concrete surfaces or synthetic wickerwork. The ‘classic style’ makes use of traditional forms, colours and patterns in combination with high- quality materials such as wool or bone china. “What makes the pres- entation so exciting are unusual combinations of materials and styles”, so the curator.
The special show will provide a compact overview of the different product groups for buyers, as well as an opportunity to establish con- tact easily and directly with the relevant exhibitors at Ambiente.
Exclusive guided tours:
At 4.30 p.m. on 10 and 12 February, curator Helga Janzon will offer guided tours through the special show ‘Contract Business – Interior & Dining Concepts for Commercial Projects’ in the foyer of Hall 4.1.
At 4 p.m. on 11 and 13 February, contract business buyers can ex- perience top-quality interior design by taking part in the guided tours of the five-star hotels Villa Kennedy and Jumeirah in Frankfurt. Reg- istration and meeting point for the tour is the Contract Business Lounge in the foyer of Hall 4.2.
