Anderson, CA – “Shop local” is a new buzz phrase that has been popularized by local businesses trying to promote sales. Now, the concept is taking off in Anderson in two very unique ways.

It is being called Shop Anderson Tuesday, it started back in October, businesses offering discounts on what is generally their slowest day of the week. But now Tuesdays have turned into a day that promotes the shops every day of the week.

The idea began out of necessity, people seemed to be over looking Anderson businesses.

“We are trying to keep people from having to shut their doors and the more people that stay here and shop locally, the better chances of that,” said Debe Hopkins, Manager at the Anderson Chamber of Commerce.
