Sky’s the limit for Nanaimo’s Paula and Kevin Lee, who spend more than $9,000 to pamper their two beloved dogs every year.

But they’re not alone.

In 2012, Americans are expected to spend $52.9 billion on their pets, up from $5.1 billion in 2011 and $48.4 billion in 2010, according to the American Pet Products Association.
