Rent-a-Mob Helps Stores to Cash InBy Cambridge-News.co.uk

Cambridge, UK – Cash mobbing is coming to Cambridge. If you’ve never heard of it, take a look at the new website launched in the last few days by social entrepreneur Ken Banks.

The idea is to boost high street trade and was successfully trialled by Ken at the weekend in Hackney, when a small independent book shop, which had sold just five books the day before, shifted more than 100 on the day of the mob.

Ken, who earlier this year was presented with a special award at the News’ Business Excellence Awards for his FrontlineSMS open source texting service, launched cashmobbers.net last week and plans to run two or three trials himself with the aim of “liberating the idea”.
