Cerno Goes Big at ICFF 2013
Cerno is unveiling several new products this week in New York City at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF). The California-based design and manufacturing company is known for shaking things up with its fresh and innovative modern light fixtures, and the 2013 product lineup does not disappoint. Cerno will be located at booth 947 at the Jacob Javits Center May 18-21.
Cerno’s designs are an embodiment of the three founders’ passion for both modern design and for producing progres- sive, American-made products. The team continues to execute distinct and signature forms that embrace both a modern and contemporary design aesthetic.
Cerno is introducing several new pendants, sconces and its revolutionary art lighting product, the Revelite AL. One new piece guaranteed to stand out is the Valeo, which, when fully extended, stands eight feet tall and has a nine foot reach. Co- founder and Director of Design Nick Sheridan touches on the challenges of creating bold new forms: “It’s always tough to know how far to push a design. We strive to keep it functional, but also to ensure significant visual impact,” explained Sheridan. “The Valeo accomplishes both without compromise.”
Co-founder Bret Englander offers a look into the Cerno team’s plans for Design Week 2013: “It is impossible to attend everything that will be going on, but we will do our best to see as much as we can after ICFF is over each day, ” said Eng- lander. “Design Week in New York is inspiring, overwhelming and humbling; it is also my favorite week of the year to be in New York City. ”
