“We call it rusty, crusty, chippy, peely with groovy-new thrown in,” said Mignon Deshaies, owner of the local home décor boutique.

“I like old things — they’re imperfect, but more perfect now in my opinion because they’ve gotten old,” she added, explaining that it’s that philosophy that has inspired the name because “patina” is the finish something gets when it starts to get old.
