Mount Dora’s Under the Cherry Blossoms Boutique Features Gifts Created by Local Artists
Mount Dora, FL – Looking up is what Lynn Wisniewski says inspired her to create Under the Cherry Blossoms boutique, which features handmade designs by about 60 local artists, monogrammed and personalized gifts and many “Made in the USA” items.
On the ceiling are about 4,000 handmade paper cherry blossoms, each inscribed with a positive affirmation to keep patrons “looking up” and to honor her namesake, which means “cherry” in Polish. It took about four months to cover the ceiling with positive quotes from a variety of songs and books and Wisniewski said she hopes the display brings as much joy to those who come to the store at 443 N. Donnelly St. as it does for her.
“I wanted to stay true to myself, so I started making my own products and decided to give others a chance to sell theirs as well,” she said. “Everything we have here is not only purposeful but personal.”
