University of Georgia names Maxine H. Burton Graduate School ‘Alumni of Distinction’
Maxine Burton, president and founder of Georgia-based burton+BURTONTM, was recently recognized by the University of Georgia (UGA) as a Graduate School Alumni of Distinction.
The Graduate School Alumni of Distinction Award recognizes graduate alumni whose professional achievements and contributions to society exemplify UGA’s motto, “to teach, to serve, and to inquire into the nature of things.”
Burton holds a master of education degree from UGA, and was featured in UGA’s “75 Years of Outstanding Alumni” in 2006. She and her daughter founded the university’s Hubbard-Burton Study Abroad Scholarship.
