Vaughan Furniture Plans to Show at the Las Vegas Market for the First Time in January

Bedroom, entertainment and youth furniture source Vaughan Furniture has signed a lease for a permanent showroom at the Las Vegas Market as part of a new strategy to expand its distribution in the West.

The Galax, Va.-based company will exhibit in a 2,600-square-foot showroom in space A-1019 at the Las Vegas Market being held Jan. 26 to 30.

“We’ve been steadily working to build our presence in the West and having a showroom at the Las Vegas Market is a key element in that strategy,” said David Vaughan, president. “This new showroom will help us reach a new group of retailers in the western U.S. and Canada who rely on the Las Vegas Market as their primary source for fresh product.”

Vaughan is targeting a mix of Top 100 furniture stores and mid-sized and smaller independents with its new initiative. To support this region of the country, the company has added a warehouse in Ontario, Calif. It also has distribution centers in Virginia and Vietnam, where it maintains an in-stock position on its entire line.

“The time is right for us to be in Las Vegas,” said Vaughan. “We’ve been waiting for the right location to open up and now that it has, we’re looking forward to launching our showroom at the winter market.”

Founded by brothers Taylor and Bunyan Vaughan in 1923, Vaughan Furniture is known for its mid-priced, quality bedroom furniture in styles ranging from traditional to transitional. The company is still family owned, led by a third generation — Taylor Vaughan, CEO, and David Vaughan, Taylor’s cousin.

“We’ve been in the business of knowing what works at retail for 90 years,” said David Vaughan. “Our long history in this industry gives us the knowledge needed to consistently bring salable, value-oriented designs to the marketplace. Our distribution model of overseas and domestic warehouses is a platform that has proven successful in supplying some of the biggest names in the business with a great value and dependable service.”

At the winter Las Vegas Market, Vaughan Furniture will spotlight its latest High Point introductions as well as a variety of current best sellers. The company’s new Las Vegas showroom is being remodeled with new walls and floor coverings to “create a stylish, inviting atmosphere that complements our new lines,” Vaughan said.

Vaughan Furniture’s new permanent showroom in Las Vegas is “another indicator of the growing importance of the market,” said Craig Staack, vice president of home furnishings leasing for International Market Centers. “Leading companies recognize the key role the market plays in reaching new and existing customers, particularly in the western U.S. and key international markets.”
