Cathedral Art Creates Boston Strong Ornament; Raises Over $90,000 Donation To The One Fund
Shortly after the Boston Marathon bombing, Providence-based Cathedral Art Metal Co., Inc., created Boston Strong Bracelets, with a donation from each bracelet going to The One Fund Boston, official fundraising agency on behalf of victims. Now the inspirational giftware company has designed and released a Boston Strong Ornament. So far, sales of the bracelets and new ornament have raised over $90,000 in donations.
The richly detailed dimensional ornament is cast and hand finished in solid zinc alloy. The 3-inch diameter ornament begins with a sculpted Christmas wreath with berries and a large ribbon bow. In the center of the wreath is a sculpted skyline of Boston and the words BOSTON STRONG.
The commemorative hanging ornament is memorable on the reverse side, as well, engraved against the skyline is: REMEMBER – APRIL 15TH, 2013.
The ornament has a suggested retail price of $15, and each sale generates a $1 donation to The One Fund. The ornament is available at both www.BostonStrongOrnament.org and at www.BostonStrongBracelet.org. The ornament and bracelets are also sold at fine gift retailers in and around Boston.
“We are so proud to be able to contribute to this important fund,” said Cathedral President Leo Tracey. “The bracelets continue to sell like wildfire, and since the ornament was made available, it, too, is selling very well. Boston is very strong, and the city has overcome this tragedy with dignity and resolve. It is an honor to be associated with The One Fund and its important services for bombing victims; and to make significant donations, thanks to our retailers and the thousands of consumers who have purchased the bracelets and ornament. We are dedicated to continuing our fund-raising efforts with these beautiful and meaningful items.”
