All That’s Old is Made New at Legacy

The past is the future at Legacy Publishing Group this year, as Legacy unveils its new Yesterboard™ line of greeting cards and gift products made from re-purposed book covers.

All items in the Yesterboard™ line are made from old book covers that have been given new life and a new purpose. Each card, coaster set or journal includes the story of how the Yesterboard™ mascot, Harvey the Hardcover Book, was saved from the trash pile, along with thousands of his friends, and turned into an attractive new product.

The book covers come from Dunn & Co., Inc., Legacy’s sister company, founded by David Dunn – affectionately known as the “Book Doctor” – patriarch of both family businesses. Dunn turns hardcover books into paperback books through a process called “book conversion.” Originally, twenty years ago, all of Legacy’s products were made from Yesterboard™. Seeking to live up to its motto as “The Family That Cares” Legacy has re-introduced Yesterboard™ as a means of protecting forests and reducing the trash going into landfills, but with new products and exciting twists that allow the consumer to continue the recycling story beyond their initial purchase.

Each of the Yesterboard™ Keeper Cards in the line includes a fold-out stand on the back so it can be further re-purposed as a decorative piece of artwork for the home or office, continuing the cycle of conservation and environmental-sensitivity. And it’s a great way to keep the sender’s loving thoughts alive year-round, not just for a day.

And all Yesterboard™ Keeper Cards are also part of Legacy’s Buy a Card | Feed a Child™ card line, which donates a portion of the profits from each card sold to hunger relief organizations like Feeding America and Food for the Poor. So the cards both save the planet and feed hungry children and families.

The coasters in the Yesterboard™ line are packaged in the original book cover from which they are made (with attractive Legacy artwork added to the front of the cover). Consumers purchase the set of two coasters in the book cover, bring them home and pop the coasters out when they are ready to use them. The coasters have a plastic laminate on them, making them heat and water resistant, and ensuring that they can be re-used over and over again for many years. The book cover itself can be used to store the coasters when not in use, or can be converted for use as a dual 3” x 5” picture frame – once again, continuing the cycle of conservation and re-purposing.

And all Legacy Yesterboard™ products are Made in America.
