Madison Style: A Crafty Mix of Vintage and New at The Regal Find
Middleton, WI – Jessica Regele hunts for treasures for her shop, The Regal Find, with a goal to find things “just a little bit odd.”
The gift shop in downtown Middleton celebrated its first anniversary this month. The space was formerly occupied by a catering company, but a century ago it housed Middleton’s general store. To create the Regal Find’s charming, updated antique feel, the building owner heightened the shop windows, refinished the original hardwoods and allowed Regele to paint the ceilings turquoise.
Regele’s finds are a mix of vintage and new. Vintage housewares are paired with paintings by local artists, milk-painted furniture, costume jewelry, embroidered children’s dresses and wooden boxes made from Wisconsin barn wood. The mix resembles a funky collection from the attic of your hip, well-traveled aunt.
