Webster’s Community Pharmacy Kicks Off Breast Cancer Awareness Month With “Pink Ribbon Extravaganza”
Webster’s Community Pharmacy announced today that it will be commemorating National Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a Pink Ribbon Extravaganza which will run for the entire month of October.
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Webster’s will be running a month long Fight Like a Girl Pink Ribbon Extravaganza. Customers will receive a 10% discount on any item decorated with a pink ribbon. Several of the manufacturers whose product will be part of the sale have committed to donating a portion of the proceeds from the sale of their product(s) to breast cancer related charities including: Breast Friends, the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation and Relay for Life. Customers who purchase an item decorated with a pink ribbon will be given a pink ribbon to wear as an outward and visible sign of their support for those who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and the goal of eradicating breast cancer.
“We are proud to participate in National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. As part of the local medical community, it is our responsibility to join others in raising awareness about the importance of early detection of breast cancer through monthly self-breast exams and annual mammograms for women over the age of 40. Today, one in eight women born today in the United States will get breast cancer at some point in their lives and nearly 2,000 men are diagnosed with breast cancer each year. The great news is that many men and women can survive breast cancer if it is found and treated early. Like so many others in the community, our loved ones have been diagnosed with breast cancer. As such, we are longtime supporters of cancer related charities including the Altadena “Relay for Life” team and will continue to work in tandem with them as they plan their next event slated for May 30, 2015.” say Meredith and Michael Miller, co-owners.
Webster’s Community Pharmacy has been part of the Altadena landscape since 1926. Webster’s RX is a full-service prescription pharmacy that also carries medical supplies. Hard –to-find retro toys, gifts, greeting cards, apparel, jewelry and fashion accessories, and books also line the historic shelves. Owners, Meredith and Michael Miller, former owners of the historic Fair Oaks Pharmacy and Soda Fountain in South Pasadena, CA, are dedicated to revitalizing and restoring this Altadena gem to its original landmark status.
