This colorful gem of an indie store can be found up the road from Dallas in Denton, the two-college town affectionately nicknamed “Little D.” Jewelry designer Beth Klein and mixed-media artist Roxane Clark opened their whimsical emporium in 1994 to showcase their work and to meet the local need for affordable, artsy gift items, vintage pieces, apparel and accessories, and home décor. The store outgrew its two previous locations and currently resides in a free-standing 3,700-square-foot building from the early 1900s that was once a jail. It now serves as the women’s studio as well as retail space, jam-packed with layers of inventory.
