With its polite and friendly atmosphere, Butterfly Herbs has had the same regulars since its opening in 1972 and has stayed true to its roots in the Missoula business sector.

The floor-to-ceiling shelving is lined with toiletries, oils, teas, herbs and coffee. Many Missoula coffee connoisseurs have been taken their first sips of espresso at the coffee-stained bar.

Founder and former owner Bruce Lee has a culinary interest that he transformed into mixing some of the famous teas sold here. These include Evening in Missoula, Raspberry Sunrise and Montana Gold.

Customers remain at the core of the store. “Our customers are what make the business. You will rarely find boredom about the store and there is always activity,” says current owner Scott Laisy.
