Inspiring Well-Being and Positive Energy By Jess Schmidt

{Sponsored} A dramatic arch of stars glittering in brilliant colors drew buyers into the Gifts of Nature showroom at Las Vegas Market in April 2021.
Beneath that swath of colors, the brands represented in the showroom, all have one thing in common: intention.

Gifts of Nature ShowroomUnlike traditional gift offerings, Gifts of Nature’s product lines are more thoughtful. “It’s not just a coffee cup. It’s a necklace to help you deal with your stress, a magnet made from sustainable wood,” said Andrew Knapp, the Las Vegas showroom manager at Gifts of Nature. Knapp takes each line and sets it in a backdrop of natural elements like greenery, salvaged wood, stone. Knapp’s aim is to bring the comfort of the outdoors inside to show off natural products without distraction. Knapp blends empty spaces with art and hand-painted murals to create a cozy, intimate space for buyers.

While those new to Gifts of Nature might walk in for the dazzling displays
Knapp creates, they stay for the variety of products; the lines are designed to work together to be able to stock an entire store in some cases. Buyers find inspiration in Knapp’s creative merchandising and find their customers’ new favorite products in the process.

SEEKING POSITIVE ENERGY

John Brown, president and owner of Gifts of Nature, approaches the search
for new lines with intention, seeking out products that promote positive energy
or relaxation. “We cover every category I would have if I had a retail store, providing the best options in each category,” Brown said. The unique lines that Gifts of Nature represents include in-demand products like crystals, candles and incense, plus jewelry, home décor, clothing, all from many fair trade or American-made product lines.

Many products are targeted toward spiritual practices and some are included so that Brown can give a fresh line a chance to be seen by a wide variety at market, and ultimately Brown says that Gifts of Nature “is instrumental in vendor success.” All of these lines are able to be sold at high margins and are products that tend to move fast in a retail setting.

SELLING INSPIRATION

Gifts of Nature showroom displaysComing off of a successful Las Vegas Market in April, the Gifts of Nature team reflected on the energy of the showroom and the top sellers.

While staples such as jewelry, sage and incense are always perennial favorites with Gifts of Nature’s returning buyers, candles such as the line from Benjamin International, which includes a crystal pendant, were wildly popular in April. According to Grace Demnianiuk, vice president at Gifts of Nature, a line of chakra candles from Aloha Bay was a top seller as well. The bold shades, essential oil scents and inspiring messaging draws and keeps the eye on this line. Another buyer favorite was Silver Sparrow, a line of fashion jewelry that mimics materials found in nature, such as water or wood, foliage and florals, made by Michele Underwood. “Michele’s vision and positive energy really
shows in the art she does through jewelry,” Demnianiuk said.

The Gifts of Nature showroom also carries a wide variety of products with price points that can tempt any retailer. Including high-end clean-burning fragrances that luxury spas prefer. Incense and essential oils have high margins and generally have some of the most rapid sell-through date of any gift category.

Crystals are always a favorite of buyers, and “Rocks are hot!” Brown said.

EXPANDED SPACE

Big things are happening in the Gifts of Nature showroom. The 4,000-square foot showroom wasn’t big enough to show off all of the products from all of the lines represented, so GON is currently working on designing and constructing an expansion. For the August market, Gifts of Nature will show off more in over double the space. With a 10,000-square-foot expanded showroom, Knapp hopes to bring luxury into the space and continue to show off key merchandising ideas and design in larger-scale displays, truly showcasing everything
that the rep group offers.
