Winner: Bon Voyage Writer’s Notebooks by Galison Green
The Bon Voyage Writer’s Notebooks from Galison Green is a line of 100 percent recycled paper products. Using collage elements supplied by Clare Goddard, the notebooks feature images of vintage maps, train and tramway tickets, propeller planes, ships, and old bicycles. Available in a pack of three‚Äîone lined, one graph and one blank; each notebook is 40 pages. Each page measures 6″ x 8″. “The goal when we created this product was comivng up with something that is affordable and useful,” says Juanita Dharmazi, creative director for Galison.

Recycled Wire Word Bowls by One World Projects
Recycled bicycle spokes are shaped and soldered to create these bowls. Words can include Peace, Love and other designs. Manufacturer Noah’s Ark is a member of the World Fair Trade Organization, and offers funding for raw materials, machines, and workshop repairs to 100-plus artisan groups in India. Fair trade practices help artisans and their families. A portion of the proceeds from Noah’s sales goes to Noah’s Handicrafts and Welfare society promoting artisan welfare, capacity building, childhood education, and social work.
Wild Woolies Finger Puppets by DZI Inc.
Both the puppets and display are made from sustainably harvested and 100 percent compostable materials, including unbleached Lokta paper and recycled compostable paperboard. Lokta paper comes from the bark of Himalayan Daphne Papyracea. Each puppet character has its own unique personality. Elected community forest user groups determine in a democratic and ecologically friendly fashion who will harvest and which areas are ready to cut.
