Trend Report: The Colors of Cool
2016 is in full swing, and brings with it not one, but two Pantone colors of the year. Meet Serenity and Rose Quartz, presented here with a sleek elegance that completely belies their childish connotations. Together, they “evoke an easy, calm, embracing and restful mood that serves as the perfect counterpoint to (our) fast-paced, fractured and hurried lives,” explained Leatrice Eiseman, executive director, the Pantone Color Institute.
Also making color headlines: Peach Echo is a friendlier, warmer orange than versions previously popular; Buttercup warms all who gaze upon it with its sun-kissed cheer; Snorkel Blue takes navy to an energetic, vibrant place; Limpet Shell straddles aqua and green to set a clean, refreshing mood; and Green Flash is an intense expression of nature’s spring finery.
