Trends: Today and Tomorrow Summer 2013 By Becky Tyre

Concepts and colors to keep an eye on.

Scandinavian Style

Often characterized by simple lines, Scandinavian designs bridge the gap between crafts and industrial production. The words ornate and elaborate are seldom used when describing Scandinavian-influenced creations. The marriage of organic forms with everyday functionality is the primary strength of Scandinavian design and one of the reasons why designers around the world are increasingly influenced by the products, styles and decorative arts coming out of the Nordic countries.
