Adapted to Mobile Devices

Mobile Meteor creates websites that are easily viewed and browsed on a mobile device. “We have found that many small business websites perform poorly on mobile devices,” says MobileMeteor founder Denis Hurley, and so the idea for MobileMeteor was conceived. Making your store’s website and location easier to find and access on mobile devices is important because, according to Google, which is used for by over 97 percent of mobile searches, one-third of all Google searches pertain to the user’s local environment. And, Foursquare projects that “location-based mobile spending will top $4 billion in 2015, an increase from the relatively paltry $34 million spent just last year.”

The young company got started to provide mobile device friendly websites so that small businesses can capitalize on what Hurley believes is the “biggest Internet revolution since the 1990’s.” Rather than create an application for a Smartphone marketplace, Hurley says independent retailers can more easily and cheaply become mobile device friendly by creating a mobile website that is easy to view and browse on a mobile device. For its clients MobileMeteor creates a simple mobile device friendly site that can be easily viewed by web-enabled mobile devices and integrates with both Facebook and Twitter. According to Hurley, a MobileMeteor site can offer information about website visitors such as how many new and returning visitors to your mobile site as well as what state and region of the country visitors are from and what type of mobile device they are using.
