25th Annual ARTS Awards Winners Announced

Dallas Market Center and ART, the creative home furnishings network, announced the winners of the 25th annual ARTS Awards during a gala event held Saturday, Jan. 18 at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas. The ARTS Awards is the premier awards program for the home industry and is held each January during the Dallas Total Home & Gift Market.

ARTS Awards presenters included Fine Art Lamps Owner and ARTS Awards Hall of Fame Member Max Blumberg; Uttermost President and CEO and 24th annual ARTS Awards Academy of Achievement award recipient, Mac Cooper; Designer and 11th annual ARTS Awards Academy of Achievement award recipient, Carolyn Kinder; and industry veteran and 13th annual ARTS Awards Academy of Achievement award recipient, Sy Mayerson. Mike Mullins, event producer for the Santa Fe International Folk Market and a previous producer of ARTS Awards, acted as master of ceremonies. Dallas Market Center President and CEO, Bill Winsor, and COO, Cindy Morris, also served as presenters along with ART’s Executive Director Sharon Davis and Mindy Lowack, president of ART and director of leasing at Dallas Market Center.

“This year’s 25th annual ARTS Awards was a milestone event celebrating the past, present and future of the home furnishings industry,” said Bill Winsor, president and CEO, Dallas Market Center. “Congratulations to all of the winners. It was an honor to recognize your achievements and celebrate with you.”

This year’s event began with the 25th Anniversary Academy of Achievement award, which was presented to the founders of the ART organization, Gil Bailie, Eric Bauer, Ralph Chancey, Henry Goldman and Harvey Hollingsworth. Additionally, the event recognized all past Academy of Achievement winners for their tremendous contributions to the industry, with many in attendance.

ARTS Awards Hall of Fame members were also guests of honor. This distinguished group represents companies who have won ARTS Awards five or more times in a specific category, and included BJ’s Home Accents, C.S. Wo & Sons Furniture, Distinctive Designs International, Feizy Rugs, Fine Art Lamps, Global Views, Montaage, Natural Decorations, PALECEK, Paragon, Robb & Stucky and Schonbek Worldwide Lighting.

Emporium Home of Little Rock, Ark., an emerging resource for high-style home furnishings, received the Rising Star Award, which recognizes innovation and modern excellence demonstrated by a home industry company that has been in business less than three years, selected by a panel of industry peers.
