Holiday spirit is high at A Christmas To Remember inside Natick Collection, where shoppers are already scooping up artificial trees, ornaments and gifts.

And with the bustle of the season just starting, manager Woodreen Arsenault is bracing for the Christmas rush by boosting the size of her small staff.

“It’s coming, and it gets busy – extremely,” Arsenault said.

From specialty shops and restaurants to big box stores, employers across MetroWest and the Milford area say they are putting people to work – at least through the new year.

Target, which started searching for help Oct. 1, says it has hired about 100 new employees for its Milford store to work through New Year’s Eve on the cash registers, sales floor and unloading trucks.

“Certainly we peak at this time of year, like all stores do,” assistant manager John Rondelli said.

Part-time job-seekers have applied online and at in-store kiosks.

“We were pretty successful in finding everybody we needed,” Rondelli said.

The store drew on high school and college students and people needing work or extra cash.

Ken’s Steak House in Framingham has already added 10 to 15 new servers for a busy season that is expected to extend into January.
