Accent on Design® Welcomes Newcomers to Winter NYIGF
White Plains, NY – From cubist bedside lighting and brushed stainless steel dog food bowls to textiles and “unfinished” steel clocks, a wide range of product categories, materials and design inspiration will be presented by newcomers to the winter 2011 edition of Accent on Design® at the New York International Gift Fair® (NYIGF®), Sunday, January 30, through Thursday, February 3, 2011, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
Accent on Design, one of ten carefully categorized divisions of NYIGF, is a dynamic, juried collection of nearly 200 contemporary and innovative suppliers across all gift, home, and lifestyle categories. Accent on Design has been the industry’s leading resource for design-led merchandise for over 25 years.
Innovative newcomers selected for participation in the winter 2011 edition of Accent on Design include: Cerno (lighting); Doca Pet (pet accessories); K Studio (home accessories, bags and gifts); Emanuela Duca (jewelry); Ex OVO (jewelry); gdg studios (ceramic home accessories & jewelry); Omni+furniture (home décor & accessories); Suki Cheema (textiles); Sweet Bella (home décor & accessories); and Tina Frey (resin home accessories and jewelry). In addition, three professional design organizations – The American Design Club (AmDC), JOIN: Design Seattle and the Object Design League from Chicago – will showcase their members’ products.
“These newly accepted companies bring an infusion of creative contemporary design to Accent on Design’s home décor and accessories offerings,” said Dorothy Belshaw, NYIGF director and GLM senior vice president. “In addition to these first-time participants, the division also will welcome back a number of design leaders following a hiatus from the New York market.”
Leading suppliers of contemporary design products returning to Accent on Designare: Built NY (neoprene bags, totes, and cases); Nervous System (jewelry); and Thelermont Hupton (furniture, lighting, accessories).
New and returning exhibitors will join established Accent on Design participants – many renowned for modern design in home furnishings and accessories – including: Alessi (home, office, personal and pet accessories); Ameico (lighting, furniture, personal accessories, tabletop); Areaware (furnishings, decorative accessories, jewelry); Artecnica (lighting, accessories); Design House Stockholm (lighting, furniture, tabletop); Designs Abroad (jewelry, decorative accessories); OXO (kitchen tools and accessories); and Stelton (stainless steel gourmet and kitchen accessories).
Several leading Accent on Design exhibitors also plan to expand their exhibit space for the winter 2011 market. This includes Aesthetic Movement (artisan representatives); Creative Danes / MENU (Scandinavian imports); Jonathan Adler (decorative accessories); Kikkerland (utilitarian gadgets and accessories); and Modern-Twist (silicone placemats, coasters).
Once again, emerging talents and new design concepts will be showcased within A+™: The Young Designers’ Platform at Accent on Design. Details about A+ designers, and their featured products, will be available after December 17.
All exhibitors in Accent on Design and A+: The Young Designers’ Platform are juried and approved for participation by a panel of design professionals.
