Ambiente 2013: Small Electric Appliances Return to Frankfurt
The number of suppliers of small electrical appliances at Ambiente has increased once again. Following growth last year, the trend at the leading world trade fair continues upwards this year. “Ambiente 2013 offers a strong range of brands for small electrical appliances. It is in a class of its own as an ordering and trend platform for tableware, kitchenware and homeware and offers buyers the opportunity to successfully complete their product ranges at the best possible time and in the best possible conditions. Small electrical appliances are an immensely important factor when it comes to completing a retail product range,” says Thomas Kastl, Director of Ambiente. Top-brand suppliers such as Gastroback, Kenwood and KitchenAid have been taking advantage of Ambiente for years to showcase their new products and innovations.
Cloer, Ritterwerk and Rommelsbacher are three more companies, members of ProBusiness, who are again exhibiting at Ambiente after a gap. “Crucial for our members were the national target groups that are quite different from those of IFA in Berlin, as well as the high proportion of retailers and trading organisations from outside Germany,” says Heinz Werner Ochs, Chair of the campaign for European brands in electrical household appliances. He continues: “.. and the fact that the unique cachet of trade fairs in Frankfurt creates a quite special atmosphere that is particularly conducive to purchases; at the end of the day, most of the products are there to help prepare some sophisticated and delicious food and drink.
Braun is another key player that is returning to the international consumer-goods fair. “We are looking forward to appearing at Ambiente – for the first time with a new ‘three brand strategy’. Braun, a traditional German brand is an ideal addition to our portfolio; so we view the future very positively and are looking forward to some excellent negotiations and new customers,” says Helmut Geltner, CEO of De’Longhi Deutschland GmbH.
Brands such as Bugatti, Clatronic, Dualit and Jupiter will also be presenting their new products for the kitchen and the home at Ambiente; these are, in themselves, good arguments for a trip to the show. Another sector highlight is the presentation, at Ambiente, of the consumer award, ‘Kitchen Innovation of the Year’. The prize will be conferred on 16 February at 11 a.m. in the Foyer of Halls 5.1/6.1 by the LifeCare Initiative and celebrates products that are particularly consumer-friendly. The categories are: “Small and large electrical appliances”, “Cooking and kitchen appliances”, “Kitchen accessories” and “Kitchen furniture, fittings and furnishings”.
