AngelStar Celebrates 20 Years of Inspiration
Morgan Hill, CA – In 1991, Nora Monaco, President and CEO of AngelStar, found herself in an interesting position after an accidental $10 sale to a customer during an employee’s lunch break. The item sold was a pin – a gold angel pin, embellished with a yellow ribbon. The pin was created by Monaco’s then business partner, in personal support of the troops and their families during the Gulf War. The sale of the pin sparked an idea within both entrepreneurs, and it soon became the beginning of AngelStar®, a leading inspirational gift company recognized for its distinctive ivory-colored inspirational products and Worry Stones™. Since the company’s launch 20 years ago, it has prided itself on being an inspirational, family-owned business, offering simple gifts of inspiration and hope that touch millions all over the world.

Within three years, the company had already sold more than one million angel-related products, a remarkable achievement. In 1997, AngelStar was altered with the exit of Monaco’s business partner, who decided to pursue other dreams outside of the company. With this change AngelStar evolved into a family-owned business model and experienced many successful product debuts, which helped the company grow and flourish. The company launched the original Worry Stone in 2001, which has touched millions of people. A Yearlong Celebration Commemorates AngelStar’s Two Decades in Business
In honor of the company’s 20th anniversary, AngelStar has recreated its original AngelStar Pin. However, unlike the original pin, the updated version will feature a different ribbon color each quarter. The colors will be representative of charitable categories – and AngelStar will make a monetary donation to a charitable organization within the designated category:
- First Quarter, Yellow Ribbon: Military Troop Organizations
- Second Quarter, Red, White, and Blue Ribbon: Veteran Organizations
- Third Quarter, Pink Ribbon: Breast Cancer Research Organizations
- Fourth Quarter, Red and/or Green Ribbon: Local Food Banks throughout the U.S.
