Animoodles kickstarter raises 400 percent of goal

Traditional children’s toys, like stuffed animals and building sets, have not changed much over the years. But when a team of animators and designers from Silicon Valley came up with something truly new – plush paws, furry heads, long arms and soft torsos that kids build into their own creations, the world of Kickstarter took notice! Animoodles, the next BIG thing in toys, met its funding goal of $25,000 in less than one day after going live, and ultimately raise over $100,000 with 939 backers. Randy Orangutan, Miguel Frog, Hazel Sloth, and Brady Lion from The Wild Jungle Collection, and Iris Unicorn from The Isle of Mythos Collection make up the first collection. When the Animoodles Kickstarter project hit its stretch goal, the designers introduced a sixth character, Sophie Elephant. Each comes beautifully boxed with an illustrated character card to get young imaginations daydreaming. One is fun, but the more Animoodles you have the more creative combinations are possible. Tucked safely inside each plush body part are rare earth magnets that click for a smooth fit. Place the arms where the feet would go? Why not? It’s silly, cuddly and wonderfully accepting of something different. These unique plush were so popular that TrendHunter named Animoodles the #1 Toy globally for several days leading up to the end of the campaign. Even now, Animoodles is still rated as trending at 9.4 out of 10. Despite being a brand new toy line from a new toy company, Animoodles were trending higher
than Hatchimals, LEGO, and all major toy brands during Black Friday, Cyber Monday, through the beginning of December 2017: the peak holiday shopping season. “All parts can rotate 360 degrees, so you can pose Animoodles any way you want to! Behind the fun and games are talented grownups on a mission inspire the next generation of little makers. Marissa Louie, CEO & Chief Designer, has been a stuffed animal lover all her life and now brings her vision to a new generation. Dan Holland, Lead Character Artist, who has worked on some of the biggest animation films is excited to see his drawings come to cuddly life in the arms of a child. Dedicated to being kid-driven, they’ve tested Animoodles with kids and their parents across the country to perfect their designs. “Stuffed animals have always played an important role in developing emotional and relational skills,” said Marissa Louie. “But, building sets have traditionally been better at developing spatial awareness and problem- solving skills. Because all these skills are important, we’re combining the best of both worlds. We hope to enable kids to see themselves as little makers, and to understand the value of our differences–how unique parts
can come together to build something amazing.”
Many Kickstarter projects irritate their backers with constant delays on manufacturing and delivery, but Animoodles did the opposite. They announced they will deliver 2 months earlier than promised, in April of 2018.
Now that the highly successful Kickstarter project is funded and closed, the company has launched a pre-order website at www.theanimoodles.com. Each character can be purchased for $24.99.
Based on the early success on Kickstarter, a sixth character, Sophie Elephant, was added to the Animoodles lineup during the campaign. The team behind Animoodles came up with a way for people who wanted the Sophie character to also do good when they buy her: After the campaign is over, all backers will be able to purchase Sophie Elephant, and 100% of profits from the purchase of Sophie will be donated to the African Wildlife Foundation, a top rated charity that actively protects elephants and other threatened and endangered animals through focused anti-poaching efforts.
