Wynne Home to introduce third area artistBy Holly GreenItemOnline.com

Fred Hulser is not prone to painting images he has not personally seen and experienced for himself.

As an artist who receives inspiration from all aspects of life, Hulser finds his greatest subjects in the unique moments of a constantly changing world.

Hulser, a resident of The Woodlands, is the third area artist to be featured in the Wynne Home Arts Center gift shop.

A reception will take place on Friday from 4-6 p.m. at the Wynne Home, offering Huntsville residents a chance to meet Hulser and view his artwork.

His work will be displayed in the gift shop through April 30.

Hulser, born in Idaho and raised in Indiana, only became a professional artist eight years ago but he will tell you, it has been a lifelong passion.

“In differing degrees, yes … art has always been a part of my life,” he said. “It started when I was in the third grade. That was the first time I remember doing anything that kind of had a ‘wow’ factor.”

As a young boy, Hulser said he had an advantage that he feels children may be lacking in schools today.

“I find it’s kind of disappointing that high school art curriculum seems to have fallen on the wayside in many jurisdictions,” Hulser said. “I actually had a very good experience in high school. We did painting, we had jewelry work benches — I still have some paintings I did while I was in high school.

My experience in these classes, in part, had a lot to do with my continued interest in art.”
